P90X

Take the “Lookin’ Good for the 25th” Challenge

With the Sanborn Regional class of 86’ 25th reunion only one year away I would like to issue a spirited challenge in the name of health and fitness to my former classmates. The challenge is to look and feel as good as you can by the reunion in July of next year. And to help provide incentive, I will donate my extra set of P90X workout DVDs to the first alumni who is willing to commit to this challenge.

In the 24 years since graduating from Sanborn high school I spent a good number of those years neglecting health and wellness, as I’m sure many of you also have. While I have always been fairly physically active, by the age of 35 I had grown soft and flabby. Over the past 8 years I have been exercising regularly and improving my eating habits and I am seeing and feeling positive results. Since discovering the P90X workout last year, I (along with my wife) am now on an “extreme” mission with health and wellness.

The P90X workouts are not for the faint of heart, you need to already have a minimum level of fitness (which will be determined by the P90X fitness test), and you need to commit to 60 minutes of daily exercise for three months. Other than this criteria, all you need is some space in your living room, a DVD player, a pull-up bar, and a few dumbbells. Truthfully, on many days it’s very hard to get myself to press the play button, but by the time the workout is finished I always feel better than before I started. As most of you are probably aware, the effects of aging cause many physical problems; back pain, joint aches, repetitive motion injuries, arthritis, fatigue, and these kinds of problems will only increase as the years churn on. For me, these workouts (combined with proper diet) are like the fountain of youth, allowing me to turn back my biological clock in a natural way.

I only have one extra set of these DVDs (a $120 value) so my offer is first come, first serve. But I urge everyone to consider joining in on this virtual challenge. It doesn’t have to be just P90 either. Choose your own exercise regimen and overall health plan and just dig in. It is my goal for the big buzz at the 25th reunion to be how good we all look and feel, but this can only be accomplished with a real commitment and some hard work. If we can just get a core group of former classmates committed to this ideal, the 25th anniversary will be an exciting new beginning and we can look forward to seeing what kinds of improvements we can all make for the 30th.

If you would like my extra set of P90X DVDs here’s what you need to do:

Follow this link http://teambeachbody.com/get-fit/fitness-tools/workout-sheets and download the P90X fit test PDF and take the test. If you pass the minimum fitness requirements, e-mail me the test results and your “before” pictures and I will ship you the DVDs. Then all you have to do is dig in and enjoy the fruits of your labor.

So what are you all waiting for? This is the perfect excuse you need to make your health and wellness the priority it deserves. Let’s look good for the 25th. And if we work hard enough, we just might feel like we’re back in high school again.
